All Booking Qualifications On board Payments
For high season (July–August) in popular bases like Athens, Lefkas or Split, we'd suggest booking 12–9 months ahead. May, June and September give you a lot more flexibility; sometimes you can find a great boat with only a couple months' notice.
Date changes are subject to availability and the operator's policy. We'll always look for a no-fee swap first. If you need to cancel, our cancellation policy sets out how refunds work.
For bareboat charter you typically need an ICC (International Certificate of Competence), RYA Day Skipper (with ICC endorsement) or a recognised national equivalent. Greece additionally requires a VHF licence on board. We'll ask for copies before your charter. If you're not sure what you have, send it over and we'll tell you.
Yes, we can arrange a skippered charter, where a professional skipper joins your boat. You can also book a hostess to look after the cooking and provisioning. Just tell us what you need.
The price covers the yacht itself, full insurance for the boat, basic safety equipment and (usually) bedding and cleaning. Excluded: fuel, marina fees away from base, food, drinks, transit log/national park fees and any optional extras (paddle boards, gennaker, end-of-charter clean, etc.).
These fees change significantly depending where you are. Using Greece as an example: fuel runs €100–€250 for a typical week depending on motoring; marina fees vary wildly (free at anchor, €20 at a quiet island, €100+ in a glamorous port like Hydra or Mykonos). Talk to us about where you are planning on cruising and your preference in anchoring or mooring in marinas and we will create a more accurate expenses estimate.
Often yes, many of our operators are pet-friendly with prior agreement and a small extra cleaning deposit. Tell us at the time of booking and we'll filter for pet-friendly boats. Remember to check your dog's pet passport and local requirements.
Standard schedule is 50% on booking confirmation and 50% six weeks before charter start. A separate refundable security deposit (or damage waiver) is paid at the base on arrival. This payment structure may vary slightly depending on the charter company but we will disclose all of this before confirming your booking.
Yes, fully refundable provided the boat is returned in the same condition, on time, with a full tank of fuel. Most operators also offer a damage waiver insurance option that reduces or eliminates the cash deposit.
Charters run in almost all conditions; a windy day in the Aegean is part of the experience. In rare cases your trip might see disruptions because of the weather, but we'll talk through these seasonal risks when discussing your booking. Storms generally pass quickly and there is always a safe haven close by.
